Opportunity

Facilitate the efficient operation of Nviro’s warehouse expansion, ensuring all goods and materials are received, stored, and dispatched appropriately. Assist in establishing Nviro’s Manufacturing Division, by setting up equipment and providing fabrication support. Manage the operation and maintenance of Nviro’s growing fleet of vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

  • Monitor inventory levels, restock, track stock movement, and implement systems to optimize inventory control.
  • Design and maintain efficient warehouse layouts, improve space utilization, maintain cleanliness (sweeping, operating commercial floor scrubber, routine trash takeout and boxes breakdown, warehouse restroom cleaning, etc.), and implementing systems for easy access to inventory.
  • Coordinate the shipping and receiving of goods, collaborating with logistics partners, and overseeing transportation schedules.
  • Operate equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to facilitate material movement, and accept deliveries from trucks. Assist with packing and loading goods as well as maintaining warehouse layouts.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and warehouse operations using appropriate software or systems.
  • Address issues related to inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or operational inefficiencies to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
  • Monitor costs of warehouse material and input costs in a tracking sheet.
  • Enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and conducting regular safety inspections.

Manufacturing Assistant 

  • Perform both field and shop metal fabrication.
  • Perform stainless steel tank and skid fabrication as well as tank repurposing and relocating.
  • Utilize various fabrication, assembly, and installation tools including but not limited to forklifts, drill presses, band saws, grinders, cold cut saws, shear, plasma, milling, press brake forming, and laser cutting systems.
  • Assist the Manufacturing Specialist on fabrication, which may include grinding, sanding, polishing, and passivation of the final product as required. 
  • Learn how to effectively operate manufacturing equipment, while upholding safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization.

Fleet Maintenance

  • Uphold maintenance schedules to keep vehicles in an optimal condition, conducting regular inspections, and arranging repairs or servicing as needed.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet legal and safety requirements, overseeing inspections, registrations, annual insurance updates, and staying informed on regulations related to vehicle maintenance and operation.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, accessories, and equipment required for vehicle maintenance, ensuring availability when needed and maintaining adequate stock levels.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, with a GE preferred.
  • 2+ years of warehouse related experience, ideally in updating/maintaining space, inventory, and/or processes to streamline business operations.
  • Software proficiency, with the ability to effectively monitor and update Microsoft Excel, Smartsheets, and an Inventory Management system.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and multitasking skills for handling various responsibilities across warehouse management, logistics, and other aspects of business operations.
  • Detail-oriented, with an ability to thoroughly carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Well-organized and tidy to maintain an optimal warehouse environment for efficiency, effectiveness, and safety.  
  • The ability to safely operate a forklift, and/or a willingness to be trained/certified in this (if not already).
  • Ability to perform work for prolonged periods of time under varying temperature and climate conditions, including the ability to bend and twist repeatedly, climb stairs and ladders, work at varying heights, mount and dismount vehicles of varying size as required.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. 
  • At least a valid California Class C Driver’s License, with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work a standard 5/8s schedule, Monday through Friday.

The overall market range for roles in this area of Nviro is typically $20 – $25 an hour.
