Opportunity

The Industrial Plumber plays a vital role in the construction, maintenance, and servicing of complex water and wastewater treatment systems. This hands-on position requires not only plumbing and mechanical expertise but also skilled manual labor to support a variety of tasks on-site. The ideal candidate is comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Install and repair piping systems for water and wastewater applications (PVC, HDPE, stainless steel, etc.)
  • Set and connect pumps, tanks, valves, flow meters, and related process equipment
  • Interpret and work from P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and isometric plans
  • Perform hydrostatic pressure testing, leak detection, and system troubleshooting
  • Work with construction crews, electricians, and automation technicians to coordinate installations
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site, following all company and regulatory safety standards
  • Assist in equipment startup, commissioning, and routine service work as needed
  • Complete daily documentation, material tracking, and QA/QC forms

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial or commercial plumbing experience (water and wastewater treatment systems preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of pipefitting, pumps, valves, and pressurized systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and shop drawings
  • OSHA 10 (or willingness to obtain); confined space and trench safety training preferred
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varied conditions and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Willing and able to perform work at job sites across California, with concentrated activity in the Central Coast area.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required depending on project location and phase
  • Strong senses: vision (both close and depth perception), hearing (warning alarms and oncoming vehicles and equipment), smell (to detect the presence of noxious/toxic fumes or gasses), and touch (dexterity to operate various equipment)
  • Must be willing to regularly work 4/10 hour shifts, and able to work after-hours on-call to include some overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience with solvent welding, threading, grooving, and fusion welding is a plus

The overall market range for roles in this area of Nviro is typically between $30 – $45 an hour.
