Nviro is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee the field execution of water and wastewater system projects, from treatment plant construction to sewer infrastructure and modular system installations. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of civil and mechanical systems, strong field management skills, and a passion for building systems that last.

Responsibilities

Field Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead day-to-day construction and maintenance activities on water and wastewater system projects, providing daily reports
  • Develop and manage site schedules and logistics in coordination with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Ensure all work aligns with design specifications, contract documents, and regulatory requirements

Crew Supervision & Safety

  • Supervise and support field crews and subcontractors, assigning tasks and monitoring progress
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards through daily oversight and routine inspections
  • Be the corporate safety officer, holding meetings and trainings focused on accountability, communication, and safety on every job site

Quality Assurance & Problem Solving

  • Monitor construction quality and ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and permit requirements
  • Identify and resolve field issues quickly to keep projects on schedule and within budget

Budget Oversight

  • Track project costs and assist in approving labor, materials, and equipment expenditures
  • Identify opportunities to optimize resources while maintaining workmanship and compliance

Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for field-related updates, coordinating with engineers, project managers, and clients
  • Participate in progress meetings and report on field status, issues, and solutions

Travel Requirement

  • Travel to job sites throughout California, and beyond, as required. Some overnight stays may be necessary depending on project location and scope

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in water/wastewater system construction or utility infrastructure
  • Strong working knowledge of treatment systems, pipeline installation, and civil sitework
  • Maintain T1 and D1 certifications to support field oversight of potable water system work, including disinfection, flushing, startup coordination, and compliance with state and local regulations
  • Proven experience managing crews, schedules, and subcontractors in the field
  • Understanding of OSHA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and permits
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to remote sites as needed
  • Certifications in safety, such as OSHA 30, CPR, First Aid, etc. 
  • Willingness to travel to jobsites, including overnight stays for extended durations as required by project schedules
