Welding & Fabrication Shop Technician

Fabrication Support

• Assist with field and shop metal fabrication activities.
• Prepare materials for fabrication, welding, and assembly (cutting, grinding, deburring, cleaning).
• Operate basic shop equipment under supervision, including band saws, grinders, drill presses, cold cut saws, shear, roller, and press brake.
• Assist with stainless steel tank, skid, and component fabrication, modification, and relocation.
• Load, unload, and stage materials using forklifts or pallet jacks (as trained/certified).
• Support CNC operations by assisting with setup, material handling, and post-operation finishing.
• Perform basic fabrication and repair tasks as directed by senior fabricators.

Welding Support

• Assist welders with setup and breakdown of welding equipment and work areas.
• Prepare joints and components for MIG and TIG welding (fit-up, cleaning, alignment).
• Perform grinding, sanding, polishing, and passivation of welded components as required.
• Assist with quality checks using basic measuring tools to ensure conformance to drawings and specifications.

General Shop Support

• Assist with warehouse organization, including setting up storage racks, workstations, and material flow layouts.
• Receive, move, stage, and organize raw materials, fabricated components, and finished goods.
• Support inventory organization and general warehouse housekeeping.
• Assist with shop improvements, equipment relocation, and other miscellaneous shop and facility tasks as needed to support production efficiency.

Safety

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and warehouse environment.
• Clean, inspect, and help maintain shop tools, equipment, and warehouse systems.
• Follow all OSHA and company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
• Participate in safety meetings, trainings, and continuous improvement efforts.
